Practice in Person at The Yoga Barn
Kundalini Yoga is a powerfully transformative and ancient form of yoga. Combining focused breathing and targeted movements it efficiently and effectively purifies the mind/body/spirit, allowing one to feel energized, light, centered and connected to higher self.
Traditional Hatha includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which helps in bringing peace to the mind and body, and preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Hatha Bhakti Yoga is an invigorating, intelligent, flowing and balancing hatha yoga sequence, set to uplifting yoga mantra music to help us open our hearts amidst the waves of life; followed by a deep relaxation and spirit lifting Kirtan. Absolute bliss! Kundalini, Gongbath & Meditation is a blissful trifecta of ancient practices infused together to bring us on an inward journey of releasing, purification and self realization. We begin with a gentle seated Kundalini kriya set to circulate prana, clear energy channels, calm the thought waves and awaken subtle awareness. We then relax on our backs as the vibrations from the Gong purifies the various layers (koshas) of our being. After this transformative process we meditate together and merge with ourselves and the universe in the present moment. Namaha! |

Kirtan is a practice that quiets the mind and opens the heart. Singing in a call-and-response style, ecstasy and inner illumination are invoked. Using ancient Sanskrit mantras, kirtan calls upon sacred energies which help to remove obstacles and bring us to the center of our being. When we chant, breathe and move to the same melodies and rhythms our vibrations begin to synchronize for our own health and well-being, and benefit the whole world.
Kirtan or 'Bhakti Yoga' (Devotional Yoga) is a very different kind of music. Based on ancient chants, it has the ability to quiet the mind if listened to with intention. Everyone experiences kirtan differently, it doesn't have to be a religious experience. You can think of it as a community gathering that uplifts the heart in song.

Re-awaken your divine energy through the union of Kundalini Yoga and the healing vibrations of mantra.
The first part will be a short but poignant and inspiring talk on the power of yoga, the effects of yoga for healing and activation of higher states of consciousness, such as compassion, acceptance and loving kindness. We’ll talk about how what we vibrate directly affects our inner and outer worlds, and the freedom and empowerment that comes with knowing that we can be forces for good in the world. Greg will offer an explanation of why Kundalini Yoga and Chanting Kirtan are so effective in supporting these vibrations before guiding you through an uplifting Kundalini Yoga practice to release tension, get our energy flowing and connect with the Great Spirit/Source. Then, after a deep relaxation we’ll take a short break and reconnect for a heart centered Kirtan - blasting our collective vibrations inward and outward with an intention of love and healing. This workshop will be organic and ease-full, with lots of space to feel and share at the end if time permits. All are welcome to share in this individual and collective opening. Let’s come together and uplift each other. Props Needed: whatever you need to be comfortable, a quiet and private space where you feel free to experience and release whatever arises, sing fully with your whole heart, and ideally a good set of speakers or headphones to immerse in the vibrations of Kirtan. |
